Wish Granting

Wish Granters are trained individuals who meet with our children to determine their wishes. Wish Granters must be over 21 years old and must pass background and reference checks.  They must also attend a mandatory training session.  These volunteers work closely with the Make-A-Wish staff to make each wish come true. Most Wish Granters meet with wish families in the evening or on the weekends and help them fill out the needed paperwork. Wishes can be granted in just several days, or may take up to a year to complete.  Please see our calendar of events (link to calendar) for upcoming training dates and times.  If you are interested in becoming a Wish Granter, call the office at 800-937-9474, and we will add you to our training list.

Special Events and Fundraising

These positions may include performing tasks as needed before, during and following a fundraising event. Event tasks may include: manning a ticket booth, addressing invitations, obtaining prizes and donations, setting up food tables, generating event interest, or organizing an event in your area.

Grant Writing

This position includes finding, writing, and applying for grants. Qualifying for and receiving grants from a variety of sources allows us to successfully move forward with our mission. Prior experience with grant writing is appreciated.

Office and Clerical Support

These positions may include helping the chapter office with addressing donor acknowledgements, filing, preparing mailings, data entry, answering phones, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Board and Committee Members

These positions govern the entire Foundation. Prerequisites and nominations are required for Board of Director's consideration.

Professional Support

May include printing services, legal assistance, graphic design, computer support, HR, fundraising, photography, public speaking, or other professional services, as needed.
